Hiring for Workshop Manager in Newark, NJ Paying Almost 115k AnnuallyThe Workshop Manager is accountable for leading the workshop team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance operations. This includes managing daily workshop performance, ensuring compliance with Quality Standards and safety practices, and maintaining exceptional customer service. The role also encompasses local project oversight, people management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet operational, financial, and customer objectives. The Workshop Manager serves as the primary on-site leader, driving operational excellence, resource efficiency, and continuous improvement, while maintaining ownership of the site's financial performance. Responsibilities: Lead and manage the workshop team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance operations. Oversee daily workflow, including vehicle turnaround times, productivity, repairs, breakdowns, and new work requirements. Manage the workshop floor and associated yard, ensuring organization, cleanliness, and compliance with operational standards. Conduct daily reviews of completed work to ensure all parts, labor, and descriptions are accurately recorded. Maintain accountability for the site's financial performance, including ownership of the P&L, cost control, and alignment with budget targets. Address performance issues through coaching, development, or formal disciplinary processes as required. Manage absence, sickness, and lateness in line with company policy; conduct return-to-work interviews. Recruit, onboard, and induct new staff; motivate and develop team members for optimal performance. Provide initial technical training and ongoing skills development to technicians, identifying and addressing training gaps and aligning with industry trends. Partner with HR to resolve employee relations matters and ensure compliance with policies and employment law. Essential Skills: 5 years of hands-on GSE maintenance experience. 3-5 years of leadership/management experience. Proven experience in operational environments, preferably within the Airports/Airlines/Ground Handlers/Airport Service Providers segments. Excellent people management skills. Experience using ERP systems (SAP is a plus). Ability to handle confidential information. Good analytical skills, excellent with numbers, and an eye for details. Result-driven, proactive with a dynamic personality. Works independently. Excellent MS Office skills (Excel and Word). Good oral and written communication skills in English, any other language is a plus. Ability to lead a team with vision and perspective. Ambitious and wants to grow their scope as well as their team within a dynamic and fast-moving international environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree. Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Boston, MA. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $115000.00/yr. They offer three different medical plans with UHC (1 HSA plan and two traditional plans), there is cost sharing as well, for Employee Only TCR covers 80% of the monthly premium, for EE+ 1 or EE + Family TCR covers 65%. Delta is through Delta Dental And Vision is through UHC It's a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, a 401k plan, PTO, paid sickness leave, and the provision of all PPE. Also provides employees with long and short term disability and life insurance at no cost. Additional life insurance can also be purchased through Lincoln.
