Title: US- Microbiologist (Entry)location: Berkeley, CA 94710Duration: 1 yr contract with possible extension POSITION SUMMARY- This position is to support related QC Micro Assay testing for GMP, Clinical, and development product release. We are seeking a QC Microbiology Lab analyst, responsible to perform microbiology assays supporting GMP, Clinical, development product release. POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESSupport day-to-day operations in QC microbiology laboratoriesConduct microbiological tests on in-process samples including growth promotion testingEnsuring all testing activities comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Process (GMP), regulatory guidelines, and safety protocolsMaintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the laboratory environmentDemonstrate the ability to learn new skills and achieve proficiencySupport method verifications for clinical and commercial products QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Requirement(s): Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related scientific field with 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry and/or in a GMP environment.Ability to work independently with minimum supervisionAbility to support and prioritize many diverse activities simultaneously while meeting schedule commitmentsStrong computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to follow written procedures Role Overview: Supports testing of commercial and clinical samples for product release in a GMP microbiology laboratory. Great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with microbiological assays and contribute to product release timelines.Team: Long-tenured team of 5–7 analysts/specialists with a collaborative and supportive culture.Reason for Opening: Additional headcount to support increased workload with potential for future conversion.Must-Have Skills: Bachelor's degree, GMP environment experience, aseptic technique, strong communication, teamwork, flexibility, efficiency, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Skills: Microbiology/laboratory experience, knowledge of compendial requirements, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry background.Work Schedule: 40 hours/week, start around 8:00 AM (±1 hour), occasional overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.Interview Process: One panel interview (Lab Manager + 2 Senior Specialists), conducted virtually or in person, with possible follow-up interview.Other Details: Local candidates preferred, no travel or certifications required, lab PPE provided, casual dress code, on-the-job paid training, target hire date by August 15.
