Inbound Transportation Part Leader

CORE ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES 80% Inbound Daily Operation and CoordinationTrack team and individual KPIs for inbound operations using a range of operational metrics in Excel, Tableau, and Power BI. Apply strong judgment to translate qualitative insights into quantitative measures for effective performance tracking.Initiate warehouse-side risk mitigations strategies, proactively identifying and mitigating risks through forecast analysis and simulation, utilizing ERP, TMS, WMS, and FTV data sources.Specialize in reducing accessorial costs—including detention and demurrage—by leveraging logistics expertise and industry knowledge.Focus on drayage-to-warehouse inbound routing, developing optimal logistics solutions to enhance operational and cost efficiency.Maintain a focused view of warehouse operations, overseeing the flow of inbound shipments from delivery through the putaway process.Implement efficient and achievable action plans in coordination with warehouse teams, ensuring procedural compliance through proactive communication.Provide customer service informed by operational insight, enhancing profitability through clear, assertive communication with customers and suppliers.Collaborate cross-functionally with Transportation, Warehousing, Operations, and Process Innovation teams to lead and support a variety of operational projects.Conduct daily and weekly operational reports to key departments and senior management for strategic planning.Lead monthly one-on-one meetings with team members to evaluate individual performance and support development through excellent interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence.20% Inbound Process Improvement Design Inbound Operational Process via thorough Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Automate manual reporting processes by leveraging visibility and forecasting toolsFacilitate cross-functional communication with demand planners, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to align processes and address interdepartmental needs.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferredFive (5) plus years of experience in Transportation/Supply Chain/Logistics preferred Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations in a fast-paced environmentExcellent problem solving and analytical skillsDemonstrate a self-discipline mindset with a results-driven approachDemonstrate proficiency in Excel and the ability to easily learn and implement new software tools, enhancing operational efficiency and data managementCapable of utilizing Tableau and a variety of SCM systems (ERP, TMS, WMS), with additional proficiency in FTV tools providing a comprehensive solutionBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD, LTD, AD&D, 401K, and generous PTOs/ paid holidays Job Type: Full time, RegularJob Location: Englewood, NJ 07632Business Hours: Mon-Fri 08:30 AM to 5:30 PM** This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
