Veterinary Technician (Entry-Level to Licensed)We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team. This position is open to entry-level and licensed candidates. The role is part-time, with the potential to grow into a full-time position as experience increases. Training is provided for all levels.
Veterinary Technicians report directly to the Practice Managers and work collaboratively with veterinarians, client-care coordinators, and fellow technicians to provide exceptional patient care and client service.
Job OverviewThe Veterinary Technician plays a key role in delivering outstanding patient care and creating a positive client experience from check-in to check-out. This position ensures smooth workflow throughout the hospital, including the exam floor, treatment area, surgery suite, barn, kennel, isolation, and laundry areas. Technicians are expected to follow directives, lead by example, and help develop the skills and knowledge of team members. All duties must be completed efficiently and in a timely manner.

Assist veterinarians with exams, dental prophylaxis, hospitalized patient care, and emergency/critical careTriage patients as needed
Prepare and monitor patients for surgery
Provide sterile surgical support
Monitor anesthesia and vital signs
Monitor and report changes in patients attitude and physical condition
Provide gentle, compassionate restraint
Clinical SkillsPlace IV catheters
Draw blood
Capture and process radiographs
Collect and process laboratory samples (in-house and reference labs)
Measure, calculate, prepare, dispense, and administer medications and vaccines
Maintain accurate medical records, logs, lab reports, and radiographsClient CommunicationEscort clients to exam rooms and obtain medical histories
Admit and discharge surgical patients
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients in a variety of emotional situations
Relay information between clients, veterinarians, and management
Educate clients on treatments, medications, and at-home careTeam & Facility SupportAssist in training and mentoring fellow technicians
Collaborate with client-care coordinators and hospital staff
Clean and maintain kennels, equipment, and hospital areas
Perform laundry duties (wash, dry, fold, store)
Maintain clean, odor-free public and employee areas
Prepare and unpack deliveries
Support coworkers as needed
Complete additional duties as assigned
Pay commensurate with experience. High school diploma or GED required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Able to bend, squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods
Must be able to hear animals and accurately read medical instruments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong computer, phone, mathematical, and written communication skills
Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional in high-stress situations
Ability to quickly and accurately process information, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks
12 years of veterinary or animal care experience preferred
Compensation details:16-25 Hourly Wage
