SUMMARY The Shipping Coordinator verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments of finished products and other materials.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned. Review shipping reports, sales orders and other records to determine shipping priorities and shipping methods required to meet established schedules. Work with transportation team to provide shipping instructions and ensure deliveries arrive as scheduled. Prepare documents such as work orders and labels, bills of lading, and shipping orders. Monitor shipping status and respond to inquiries regarding status. Contact cross-functional teams to resolve shipping issues. Assist in investigating and resolving distribution center issues as they arise. Maintain accurate inventory of products, materials, and equipment, including monitoring status, quantity, and location. Ensure all relevant files are maintained and organized. Prepare a variety of shipping and operations reports for management. Responsible for staying in compliance with Company’s THM/Safety policy. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma or recognized equivalent AND 3 to 5 years of experience in a shipping, receiving or logistics environment.COMPUTER SKILLS Possess intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Proficiency with software applications related to job functions. Experience with AS400 is preferred.COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, invoices, and procedure documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to vendors, customers, and supervisors.REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and verbal form. Strong problem solving, customer service, and conflict resolution skills.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
