Job Title: Mainframe Engineer/DeveloperLocation: Westlake, TX (Onsite 5 days every other week)Duration: 3 Months Contract to HirePlease apply Only Local Candidates who can do W2 Contracts***Job SummaryWe are seeking a Mainframe Developer with good COBOL and JCL, DB2, and CICS skills who will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining mainframe applications that support critical business processes.Job Responsibilities IncludeCollaborating with business analysts and project managers to gather requirements and design technical solutionsCreating and executing test plans to ensure application functionality and qualityParticipating in code reviews and providing feedback to other developers to ensure code quality and adherence to standardsTroubleshooting and resolving application issues in a timely and efficient mannerKeeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to suggest process improvements or new solutions.Basic Qualifications5+ years of experience writing, testing, and debugging COBOL programs using established coding standards and best practices5+ years of experience developing and maintaining JCL scripts to manage batch processing and job scheduling5+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining DB2 databases to support application data needs5+ years of experience writing and maintaining CICS transaction programs to provide online access to mainframe applicationsPreferred SkillsShould possess good knowledge on CICS, COBOL, DB2, VSAM, MQ and JCL.Good CICS System knowledgeGood understanding of CICS Dynamic Transaction Routing process.Should be familiar with DB2 tools, File-Aid, scheduler and debugger tools.Good communication and ability to interact with Partners.General knowledge in core Java and Front-end Technologies (Angular) is plusEndeavor Software Manager migration tool/processSFTP/AWXAY Secure File transfer knowledge Ability to work independently and within a team structure?Overall, a mainframe developer with these skills plays a critical role in maintaining and improving the performance and reliability of mainframe applications that are essential to the operations of large organizations.
