Position: Senior Snowflake AdministratorJob Location: Newport Beach, CAJob Type: Full TimeImmediate InterviewPosition Summary:We are seeking an experienced Senior Snowflake Administrator with strong expertise in managing large-scale data warehouse environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Snowflake optimization, workload management, security, and cross-cloud integrations, specifically within AWS ecosystems. This role is critical for ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability of our production OLAP workloads.Position Responsibilities & Required Skillset:Snowflake Administration & Performance OptimizationManage Snowflake warehouses including sizing, scaling, clustering, and resource monitor configurations.Optimize compute usage to reduce queuing, resource spills, and concurrency issues.Implement and maintain replication across regions/accounts and manage failover groups for DR and business continuity.Oversee query performance tuning, caching strategies, pruning, and partitioning for complex analytical workloads.Monitor query history and execution plans to proactively address bottlenecks.Manage Snowflake objects including databases, schemas, roles, warehouses, tasks, streams, and integrations.Advanced Data Features & SQLDevelop advanced SQL scripts including views (regular/materialized), dynamic SQL, and automation tasks.Implement Snowpipe for continuous data ingestion and Streams/Tasks for CDC workflows.Handle schema design, data pipelines, versioning, and LOB management.Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps (AWS Focus)Integrate Snowflake with AWS services such as S3, IAM, Lambda, Route53, and VPC Endpoints.Set up secure networking layers (subnets, private endpoints, access policies).Use Terraform to automate and provision Snowflake & supporting cloud infrastructure.Maintain version control using Git, and leverage Visual Studio/VS Code for development workflows.Security, Governance & ComplianceImplement RBAC, masking policies, data sharing privileges, and secure access controls.Manage user roles, permissions, auditing, and compliance with enterprise security standards.Work closely with InfoSec teams to ensure Snowflake security posture matches organizational requirements.Production Management & Operational ExcellenceEnsure reliability and uptime for production and mission-critical OLAP environments.Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate pipelines into Snowflake.Troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and apply preventive measures.Participate in on-call rotations for high-priority systems.Required Skillsets7+ years of experience in Data Warehousing / Cloud Platform Administration.Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake including architecture, performance tuning, replication, and DR.Expertise in advanced SQL, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and data ingestion workflows.Solid understanding of AWS platform: S3, IAM, Lambda, Route53, VPC, VPCE, subnets.Proficiency with Git, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code practices.Experience supporting large-scale OLAP workloads with high concurrency.Strong understanding of RBAC, masking policies, secure data sharing, and compliance.EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, engineering or a similar technical field.
