The ideal candidate will support daily coordination of office operations, transportation support, customer service, and administrative functions within our recycling operations. ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementLead, coach, and develop a team of three operations and administrative support team membersEstablish daily priorities and ensure accurate, timely completion of responsibilitiesPromote accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and strong customer service Train new team members on company systems, processes, and operational proceduresAssist with performance management, scheduling, and workload coordinationCreate a culture focused on efficiency, continuous improvement, and operational excellenceOperations & Logistics CoordinationOversee inbound and outbound scale operations and transaction accuracyCoordinate communication between drivers, customers, dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and leadershipEnsure transportation, shipping, receiving, and logistics documentation is completed accuratelyMonitor logistics activity, transportation schedules, and operational tracking systemsSupport inventory adjustments, material tracking, and operational reportingTroubleshoot operational issues and help drive timely resolutionCustomer & Vendor ManagementServe as a primary point of contact for customers, vendors, and transportation partnersEnsure high-quality customer service and professional communicationAssist with service coordination, issue resolution, and relationship managementSupport vendor setup, account maintenance, and rate management within ERP systemsAdministrative & Financial SupportOversee accounts payable and accounts receivable support activitiesEnsure accurate invoice processing, collections support, and operational paperwork flowMaintain customer and vendor records within ERP and operational systemsAssist with operational reporting, data management, and document accuracyPartner with accounting and leadership teams to improve administrative workflows and controlsSystems, Projects & Continuous ImprovementSupport and improve ERP systems, logistics tracking tools, and operational reporting processesAssist maintenance and operations teams with equipment software tracking and documentationLead and participate in process improvement initiatives across departmentsIdentify operational inefficiencies and implement practical solutionsPartner with leadership on special projects, growth initiatives, and strategic improvementQualifications5+ years of experience in operations support, logistics coordination, transportation, customer service, or administrative leadership rolesPrior leadership or supervisory experienceStrong understanding of transportation, inventory, logistics, and operational workflowsExperience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processesProficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and operational software platformsExcellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced industrial environmentHigh level of accountability, professionalism, and attention to detailAssociate degree or equivalent work experience preferredBenefitsFlexible work schedule Healthcare benefits Dental and vision coverage Paid holidays Paid time off Positive and team-oriented work environment Axios Professional Recruitment—an employee-owned company—is the largest independent employer in West Michigan.
