Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Olympia, Washington.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive CareDiscipline: RNStart Date: 06/02/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Nights, 3x12hrsHours: 36 hrs/wkStart Date: Jun 2, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract at a Level II NICU, requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and Epic proficiency.DetailsLevel II NICU in a 325-bed short-term acute care hospitalCares for neonates 32 weeks gestation and above; infants born earlier are stabilized and transported to tertiary facilitiesPatient conditions include RDS, sepsis, NOWS/NAS, feeder/growers, hyperbilirubinemia, hypoglycemia, failure to thrive, and IV antibioticsProcedures include IV placement (with VAT team backup), short-term intubation, PPN/Lipids, and EPIV managementCharting via Epic (experience required)Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30Every other weekend requiredNo on-call requirementsFloating required: may float to Postpartum to care for stable couplets (1–2 orientation shifts provided if no couplet experience) and to Pediatrics at a 1:3 ratio for bili babies, feeder/growers, and failure-to-thrive cases (no acute or respiratory patients)RequirementsActive WA state or compact RN license requiredCurrent BLS and NRP certifications requiredMinimum 2 years of NICU experience requiredEpic EMR experience requiredProficiency with IV placement, PPN/Lipids, EPIV, and short-term intubation supportAt least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for considerationSSN and DOB required for considerationAdditional InformationFirst-time travelers will not be considered for this positionCandidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible for a travel contractFormer permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facilityAll travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment terminationAll requested time off must be disclosed at the time of submission — RTO requests made after submission or offer may be deniedMinimal RTO is preferred; significant RTO requests may impact eligibilityBlock scheduling is not available at this timeAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-703743.
