Armed Security Patrol Officer
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Code 3 Security Officer, patrol clients property in patrol car, on foot, bicycle, or UTV; answer calls for the protection of life and property, and the enforcement of the clients rules and policies, may conduct investigations of disturbances, trespassing, assaults, prowlers, burglaries, thefts, vehicle accidents, and other incidents.
Patrol and secure the clients property in a patrol unit, on foot, bicycle, or UTV; respond to calls related to traffic incidents and any other required emergencies; observe, monitor and control routing and unusual traffic conditions; assist and advise motorist of traffic safety on private property.
Make detainments as necessary; interview victims, complaints and witnesses; preserve evidence for law enforcement; testify in court.
Contact and cooperate with law enforcement agencies in matters relating to the apprehension of offenders and the investigation of offenses.
Prepare reports of arrests made, activities performed, and unusual incidents observed.
Check buildings for physical security.
Direct traffic at fire, special events, and other emergency or congested situations.
Maintain contact with clients, guests, and residents regarding potential security related problems.
As a Field Training Officer (Corporal), provide thorough training, guidance, and evaluation of security officers.
Perform undercover and surveillance activities as assigned.
Conduct complete investigations of crimes against persons and property.
Prepare investigative reports and case information, provide evidence and testimony in court.
Preserve and maintain evidence and property found that is involved with suspected crimes for law enforcement.
Develop and maintain good relationships with the client, guests, and residents
Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Law Enforcement methods and procedures, including patrol, traffic control, investigation and identification, equipment, reports and first aid.
Criminal law
Traffic laws and regulations.
Agency rules and regulations.
Ability to:
Observe accurately and remember faces, numbers, incidents, and places.
Use and care for firearms.
Think and act quickly in emergencies, and judge situations and people accurately.
Learn, understand, and interpret laws and regulations.
Learn and remember streets, addressing system, and physical features.
Prepare accurate and grammatically correct written reports .
Learn standard broadcasting procedures of a radio system.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Applicant must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Possession of a valid Michigan Drivers License.
Possession of a valid Taser Certification (Will train and certify if needed)
Possession of a valid OC Certification (Will train and certify if needed)
Possession of a valid First Aid Certification (Will train and certify if needed)
Possession of a valid CPR Certification (Will train and certify if needed)

If you’re applying for a position as an Armed Officer, applicants must have prior law enforcement, military or 2 years armed security experience to qualify. Those with law enforcement or military backgrounds are given first review.
If applying for a position as a Dispatcher, preferred applicants will have dispatching experience with a combined use of a multi-line telephone system, two-way radio communications, a CAD system, and must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Code 3 Security does not hire managers or supervisors from outside of the company. We foster a "promote from within" policy for all leadership or management positions. If you strive to become a supervisor or manager for Code 3 Security, we require all supervisors to first start in the field as a officer.
Disqualifiers
1. Non-U.S. Citizenship, or no authorization to work in the U.S.
2. Conviction of ANY felony or a Misdemeanor involving theft, larceny, drugs, or domestic violence.
3. Violation of C3S employment drug policy.
Starting ENTRY Level Officer
An entry level applicant is someone that has either a minimum of 2 years of Private Security experience; has served at least 4 years of Active Duty service in the Military; or has a combination of Reserve or National Guard service with at least 1 year of Private Security experience. Qualifying security experience is considered positions that required interaction with clients/general public where enforcement of client rules, laws & ordinances was a main component.
Starting Dispatcher
Dispatcher applicants must be able to work in a fast paced environment, with the ability to multi-task. Dispatchers must be able to answer a multi-line phone system, while communicating with officers in the field via two-way radio system, all while maintaining an active shift/call history log detailing every call and activity of each officer in the field. Dispatchers must be able to effectively communicate with callers requesting service and 911 dispatchers.
