As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.Job SummaryThe Remote Outage Advisor III will provide remote assistance, advice, & guidance to PGS (Power Generation Service) outages across the globe in order to meet assigned objectives on GE steam and gas turbine power generation equipment. Will work within defined parameters to provide technical assistance to PGS Field Engineers and GE site personnel to help resolve issues at PGS outages, uprates, & installations. Will work on documentation, products, & processes that drive consistent outage execution and excellence.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist global PGS Field Engineers and GE site personnel with commissioning and/or mechanical technical questions and issues in support of outages, uprates, and installationsWork with Engineering, Global Services Excellence, and other Head Quarters based teams as required in the development of new products, tooling, and processes with a focus on the serviceability or use of those in the fieldAssist with a continuous cross training program on both GE and Legacy equipment to promote the development of a seamless integrated ROS teamSupport the development of new IT applications and their use by PGS Field EngineersAssist with the development of new and the update of existing technical documents, templates, and formsMentor less experienced field engineers both technically and in the PGS culture of safety, quality, and complianceDevelop and further expand technical knowledge and expertiseMaintain a strong safety mindset to ensure the executed work of both yourself and those you advise / assist, reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standardsPossess knowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintagePerform administrative functions as needed such as: writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete, timely, and thorough basisTravel as needed in support of the above responsibilitiesPerform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge / experience7+ years applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge2+ years of specialized/industry experienceAbility to travel 20% of the time, domestically and internationally as requiredDesired CharacteristicsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical EngineeringSignificant years of field engineering services experience (Legacy Steam Turbine and/or Generator Technology)Legacy Steam Turbine and/or Generator experienceAbility to work effectively with minimum supervisionAbility and willingness to mentor Field EngineersAbility to work effectively with minimum supervisionStrong customer service mindsetStrong organizational skillsExperience working with virtual teamsPrior project management experienceField Engineering Program graduate (GE employees only)Strong project management skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsCompensation And BenefitsThe annual salary range for this position is $78,700 to $125,900. This is an exempt from overtime position.
