Service Technician

PURPOSE:A fully qualified Service Technician will be responsible for performing start-up services, troubleshooting and repair activities on natural gas and light oil-fired industrial boilers both in the field at customer sites, located in Orlando, Florida.We are hiring an experienced boiler service technician, looking for an opportunity to work with a well-established, well-respected, and growing company to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to become an important member of our growing company which offers a company truck, cellphone, training, benefits and competitive wages.$35.00 to $45.00 per hour based on experienceIn this role, you will be responsible for creating a positive relationship with customers as you professionally maintain, troubleshoot, repair and install commercial and industrial equipment.WHY JOIN US?Possible re-location allowance for the right candidatePermanent full-time positionCompetitive compensationCompany truckPaid overtime if evening and weekend work requiredCo-pay Benefit Plan that includes coverage for employee health and life insurance, AD&D, Short- and long-term disability, hospital, prescription drugs, healthcare and dental care as well as access for spouse and family401K with an employer match that doubles and employee's 2% contributionFriendly cultureTeam approach to learning and sharing opportunitiesGrowing companyKey Responsibilities:Lead all on-site installation (starts up and upgrades), preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs and testing tasksUse test equipment, meters, and your own mechanical abilities to fire boilers and related equipment to ensure proper operation prior to and during installationDiagnose errors and technical problems to determine proper solutions and make appropriate recommendations to customersComplete documentation such as field service reports, start-up reports, warranty forms, technical recommendation forms, etc.Ensure truck inventory is aligned with the recommended parts listPromote upgrades in addition to parts sales and new and rental boiler salesPerform basic electrical and mechanical repairs on boilers and auxiliary equipmentDevelop and maintain good customer relationships and represent and promote Plains Mechanical Services in a professional mannerMonday to Friday schedule, working mainly between 7:30am-4:00pm, with some evenings/weekends and overtime work as requiredEmergency standby call on a rotating basisSkills, Abilities and Experience:Must meet Company requirements with respect to general qualifications.Electro-Mechanical Troubleshooting Experience RequiredTravel to customer sites (with occasional but limited overnights)5+ years of experience working as a service technician in a related industryExperience working on commercial/industrial boiler systemsKnowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, and understanding of gas and oil combustionAbility to read and understand prints, drawings and technical bulletinsBasic computer skills to complete service reports and logsValid driver's license with a clean driving record.Company Overview:We are a Thermogenics company.
