Software Engineer 2 — Durham, NC (Onsite) | 12-Month Contract | 2 OpeningsWe're hiring two Software Engineers for a global medical technology company's Digital Engineering team in Durham, NC. This is a 100% onsite, 1-year contract role.Two experience bands open:2-4 years5-8 yearsWhat you'll do:Build internal applications, automation pipelines, and database solutions that speed up engineering analysis and materials data management. You'll work across Python (FastAPI/Flask) or ASP.NET Core/C#, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse), and SQL Server/PostgreSQL to turn manual engineering workflows into automated ones. Direct collaboration with simulation and testing engineers.What you need:Bachelor's in Engineering or Computer Science (Master's can substitute for 2 years experience)2+ years with either the Microsoft stack (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, ASP.NET Core/C#, Azure) or Python stack (FastAPI/Flask, Pandas, SQLAlchemy)2+ years designing and managing databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)Strong Git workflow discipline, code review experience, unit testingComfort in Linux HPC environments a plus (SLURM, MPI)Nice to have: Power BI, PyTorch/TensorFlow/Scikit-learn or LLM exposure, SolidWorks/FEA/CFD tools, Instron BlueHill or LabVIEW.Candidates will be asked to share a GitHub portfolio or code samples and complete a short practical assessment in Python or database development.Apply or message me directly.
