About Hashiri
"Hashiri" means "the start of the season" — the peak moment for an ingredient, or "shun." That idea shapes everything we serve, from our sushi to our sukiyaki, and it earned us Michelin recognition three years running (2017–2019). As we reopen our San Francisco location, we're building a front-of-house team that can guide guests through that experience with warmth and confidence — we're hiring 6 servers to help bring the dining room to life.
What You'll Do
● Greet and seat guests, and guide them through the menu, omakase courses, and seasonal specials
● Take and relay orders accurately, coordinating closely with the kitchen
● Deliver attentive, knowledgeable table service from seating through checkout
● Perform a simple tableside cooking step using a tabletop pot (sukiyaki-style service) — full training provided
● Maintain table settings, dining room cleanliness, and overall guest experience
● Process payments and handle POS transactions
● Support opening/closing side work and team coordination during service
What We're Looking For
● Prior serving experience preferred, ideally in a fine-dining or upscale setting
● Comfortable describing Japanese cuisine, sushi, and omakase-style dining to guests (training provided — no Japanese language required)
● Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
● Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
What You'll Gain
● Front-of-house experience in a Michelin-recognized dining room
● Training in Japanese hospitality and omakase service style
● Room to grow as Hashiri rebuilds its San Francisco team
_Benefits: PTO and staff meal included (specific details to be finalized)._
