Senior Process Engineer (Oklahoma City)
Seeking a Process Engineer III to support refinery operations, improve process performance, and contribute to capital project development. This role works closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Process Safety teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable refinery performance.Reporting to the Process Engineering Supervisor, this position supports the Operations Superintendent in monitoring product specifications and optimizing refinery units. The role includes small capital project design and development, operational troubleshooting, process optimization, and support of Process Safety Management (PSM) activities. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and consultants to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support to assigned refinery process unitsPerform daily monitoring, troubleshooting, and process optimizationDesign and develop small capital improvement projectsWork with drafting and engineering teams to ensure proper equipment design and sizingSupport catalyst and chemical evaluations, vendor communications, and bidding processesAssist with unit startups, shutdowns, and turnaround activities (including extended shifts as needed)Track and analyze operational performance dataSupport control system improvements (TDC/APC)Collect and provide operational and lab data for project engineering and vendorsResearch emerging technologies to improve refinery strategiesParticipate in incident investigationsSupport PSM activities including Management of Change (MOC) and Process Hazard Analyses (PHA)Maintain clear communication with supervisors regarding progress and issuesEducation RequirementsBachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum EngineeringChemical Engineering degree preferredExperience RequirementsMinimum 2 years of relevant engineering experienceRefinery or oil industry internship experience preferredKnowledge of economic principles and project managementProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelFamiliarity with process modeling software preferredStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in team environments and lead when neededComfortable working in a manufacturing/industrial settingAbility to adapt to changing priorities and schedulesFluent in English (written and verbal)
