Overview
The Marketing Leader will elevate the SCHEELS brand through strategic community engagement, manage local marketing initiatives and create programs that will increase store traffic, engage the consumer, enhance the consumer's experience and strengthen relationships with community partners. The associate will work directly with the Store Leader to determine strategies that align with store goals.
Compensation: Compensation for this position starts at $26 per hour.
Responsibilities
Lead community engagement.
Identify and direct local community outreach opportunities
Serve as the scheduling manager to ensure that SCHEELS associates are present at relevant community events
Serve as a representative for SCHEELS at community events by upholding the highest standards in conduct and appearance
Identify and lead local partnership opportunities in the community and on social media
Manage local donations and sponsorships to elevate the SCHEELS brand
Direct local marketing initiatives
Lead community partnership and social teams within the store
Social media strategy including Facebook and Instagram for the store's local pages
Identify local media opportunities via print, TV and radio to elevate experts and experiences
Evaluate effectiveness of marketing initiatives
Build positive rapport with SCHEELS associates so that they understand the rationale for marketing campaigns
Understand and stay current on local demographics, consumer buying habits and changes in the retail environment
Have a clear understanding of the SCHEELS brand and culture
Manage and enhance both company wide and local marketing campaigns within the store
Create programs and initiatives to increase store traffic, engage the consumer and enhance the consumer experience
Determine and direct programs including budget, calendars, advertising, public relations and staff needs
Identify opportunities to share the SCHEELS story and elevate SCHEELS experts
Evaluate all marketing endeavors
Serve as the store liaison with Corporate Office Marketing to maximize and align marketing strategies
Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth
Other duties as assigned by leadership
Schedule
Must have schedule flexibility as schedule will vary based on marketing and event needs. This person will be expected to work at least 2 evenings during the week and every other weekend. Average hours per week is 40 hours.
Requirements
Experience in marketing; and ability to think strategically and creatively
Ability to work independently and build strong rapport with a team. Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels' policies and procedures
Exercise sound judgment and tact as it relates to interaction with consumers, SCHEELS associates and the community
Strong oral / written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with external audiences
Ability to manage events and promotions; Ability to manage several projects at one time with great attention to details
Leadership and/or management experience is preferred
Professional appearance and attitude
Ability to work assigned schedule which may include varied hours, evening, weekends, and holidays; Some travel, including overnight stays
Must possess a valid driver's license

Education & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field; 2-5 years of related experience: or equivalent combination of degree and experience. Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record as will be required to drive SCHEELS vehicles.
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation
Medium work -Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
