Senior Insurance Accountant (Remote) – Hadron UK

Description:Hadron UK Insurance Company (Folgate) is a UK Property and Casualty Insurance Company specializing in MGA/MGU delegated authority business. This rapidly growing insurance company is seeking a Senior Insurance Accountant to join our UK team. You will be responsible for insurance accounting, internal controls, budgeting, and reporting. You will also participate in projects, supporting the CFO to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Finance Team performance.This position will report to the CFO, ensuring timely and accurate underwriting results reporting. They will also have close collaboration with the Financial Controller and other functional areas of the business, including the wider Group Finance Team.Responsibilities:· Responsible for preparation of key financial processes, including monthly/quarterly (re)-insurance reporting on a growing book of business (size of the portfolio contains 1 to 5 MGAs and several reinsurers but has the potential to significantly grow in the next few years)· Responsible for monthly journal entries into Oracle NetSuite’s ledger· Responsible for preparation of technical forms and notes for quarterly and annual regulatory reporting, including UK GAAP and SII· Work closely with the management team, including Chief Underwriting Officer and Senior underwriters, to provide advisory services when a new insurance program and/or contract is being contemplated· Maintain Funds Withheld, monitor collateral, and communicate any concerns to CFO and Financial Controller· Aid in external and internal audit processes· Support CFO and Group Finance team to develop state of the art finance operating environment, primarily focusing on the (re)-insurance side of the operations· Perform a variety of analyses to support a startup business, including collateral and cash flow modeling· Develop and maintain procedures and documentation for the insurance and reinsurance accounting area and support Financial Controller with the maintenance of the overall finance documentation and control framework· Assist with any ad-hoc tasks of the Finance department, as and when required· Perform a variety of tasks to support an agile Finance team in the startup businessQualifications:· Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting areas or significant applicable work experience· 5+ years of relevant experience in P&C Insurance (MGAs Business, and/or Reinsurance experience)Skills:· Time management and ability to meet deadlines· Strong desire to learn and be continuously challenged· Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills that allow for effective and timely resolution· Ability to build trusted relationships with business partners and communicate effectively· Diligence, organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment· “Can do” attitudeBenefits:· Ability to work remote as a member of a fast-paced, international workforce· Excellent benefits package including pension contribution, private medical and dental insurance and group life & income protection plan
