Material Handler

DescriptionVirnig Manufacturing is a leading manufacturer of high-quality skid steer attachments with over 35 years of industry experience. As we continue to grow, we are seeking Material Handlers to support production, inventory, receiving, kitting, and shipping operations at our Fort Madison facility.This role is responsible for ensuring materials and parts are received, stored, moved, kitted, and shipped accurately and efficiently to support manufacturing operations. Successful candidates will be organized, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Compensation And ScheduleStarting wage: $25.50/hour Benefits Package IncludesMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer matchGenerous PTO including vacation and paid holidaysShort- and long-term disability coverageLife insuranceEmployee assistance programOpportunities for growth and developmentRequirementsWhat You'll DoBuild and deliver weld and assembly kits according to production schedulesSupply production areas with materials and components as neededReceive incoming materials and stock parts in designated locationsPick, pack, label, and prepare customer and production orders for shipmentVerify incoming inventory and report discrepanciesAccurately record inventory transactions and material movements in the ERP systemMaintain proper part identification and labeling throughout the facilityOperate forklifts, hoists, and other material handling equipment safely and efficientlyProcess shipments using company shipping systems and carrier portalsSupport inventory accuracy through organization, cycle counts, and inventory control activitiesObserve and report equipment issues or safety concernsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentAssist other departments as needed and perform additional duties as assignedWork overtime as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredGeneral computer skills requiredForklift experience preferredInventory, warehouse, shipping, receiving, or manufacturing experience preferredExperience working with ERP systems is a plusSkills & CompetenciesStrong organizational and time management skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlinesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong verbal and written communication skillsCustomer-focused and team-oriented mindsetAbility to learn new systems and technology quicklyCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 75 poundsFrequent bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching throughout the shiftRepetitive use of hands, wrists, arms, and shouldersAbility to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete floorsAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other required equipmentWhy Virnig?At Virnig, our people are at the center of everything we do.
