Project Estimator
PROJECT ESTIMATOR Full-Time | Phoenix, Arizona. Reports to: Sales ManagerWe are looking for a precise, analytical, and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our team. In this role, you'll be the financial backbone of our project pipeline—compiling costs, analyzing bid packages, developing pricing strategies, and ensuring every project is set up for profitability from the start. If you thrive on accuracy, enjoy digging into the details, and want to grow your career in the architectural sign industry, we'd love to hear from you.WHAT YOU'LL DOPerform accurate, complete, and timely cost estimates and project pricingAnalyze incoming bid packages and requests for quotations by determining product types and quantities, labor and installation costs, and required timeframesPrepare project summaries and communicate with sales consultants and clients to resolve outstanding questionsMaintain and grow a library of vendor resources, material prices, and product informationInvestigate new vendors, subcontractors, manufacturing technologies, and delivery methods to lower costs and strengthen our competitive positionWork closely with Sales Manager, Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and the General Manager to maintain competitive pricing on standard and bid projectsCollaborate with accounting staff to analyze job costs and compare quotations to actual time and material costsPrepare management reports including quotation logs and won/lost project recordsMaintain a thorough, up-to-date knowledge of the company's products, services, capabilities, and order processing proceduresMaintain personal workspace, resource library, and work in process in a safe and organized mannerParticipate in training programs and adhere to company policies and proceduresWHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKEFirst 30 days: You've developed a solid understanding of our products, materials, manufacturing processes, and estimating systems, and you're working alongside our team on active projects.First 60 days: You're independently handling estimates and bid packages with growing confidence, and building your vendor and resource library.First 90 days: You're producing accurate, timely estimates that reflect a strong grasp of our pricing strategy and competitive position.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORBachelor's degree or equivalentExperience in the architectural sign industry or a related field (construction, design, graphics) is highly desired but not required — we are prepared to train the right candidate, with salary adjusted accordinglyComprehensive knowledge of construction practices, sign products, materials, hardware, manufacturing standards, and installation techniques is a plusAbility to read and interpret architectural plans and specificationsHighly organized, thorough, and detail-orientedPrecise in written and verbal communicationCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITSThis position offers a competitive base salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and retirement contributions.WORK SCHEDULEThis is a full-time position. Core hours are Monday through Friday with flexibility in start and end times based on business needs and supervisor approval.
