Financial Controller

CONTROLLEREzra Lee Design+Build · Alpine, Utah · Full-Time --- Ezra Lee Design+Build is a full-service luxury architecture, interior design, and construction firm headquartered in Alpine, Utah. Founded in 2010, we manage complex, high-value projects from concept through completion across multiple entities and business lines. We are looking for an experienced Controller to own the financial operations of the firm, someone who brings structure and clarity to our numbers, works closely with ownership, and thrives in a fast-moving, project-driven environment. This is a hands-on role with direct access to leadership. You will be the financial backbone of the organization. --- WHAT YOU'LL OWN Financial Reporting• Full-cycle monthly close across multiple entities: P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, MD&A• Fixed asset schedules and monthly depreciation entries• GL and intercompany reconciliations Cash & Banking• Weekly check run, ACH, and wire management• Bank and credit card reconciliation• Cash flow monitoring and forecasting Construction Finance• Construction draw management including draw compilation, PM coordination, and client submission• Job costing oversight in coordination with the project management team• Subcontractor invoice tracking and AP coordination Billing / AR / AP• Architecture and interior design billing, coordinated with the Design Studio• AR collections coordination with project teams and clientsAP entry and payment processingCompliance & Tax• Sales tax filings• Annual review and audit support• Bank documentation and correspondence Team & Operations• Oversight of accounting staff• Process improvement and documentation• Ad hoc financial analysis for ownership --- WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Required• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a controller or senior accounting role• Experience managing financials across multiple entities• Proficiency in QuickBooks or comparable accounting software• Strong understanding of job costing, construction draws, and project-based accounting• Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and communicate clearly with non-financial stakeholders Preferred• Experience in construction, architecture, interior design, or a related industry• Familiarity with construction draw processes and lender documentation• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus but not required• Experience supporting ownership-level reporting and decision-making --- THE ENVIRONMENT We are a growing firm with a strong design and construction culture.
