One of our Esteemed clients, engaged in Elevator industry is looking for an Research and Development Engineer role in Atlanta, GA.We are looking for a leader with strong hands-on experience in engineering and R&D environments, specifically managing SPDP stage-gate processes, product development cycles, and New Product Introduction (NPI).Job details:Job title:: Research and Development EngineerDuration:: 3 - 6 Months (CONTRACT)Location:: Atlanta, GA 30339 (ONSITE)Shift:: Hybrid Schedule - Monday to Thursday (8AM - 5:00PM) & Friday (Work from Home)Brief about the role:The role leads complex, cross-functional engineering and product development initiatives supporting innovation and growth agenda. This role is accountable for end-to-end execution of new product development and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, ensuring alignment to SPDP (Structured Product Development Process), quality standards, and business targets.Essential FunctionsLead NPI and product development programs across full lifecycle (concept → design → validation → industrialization → launch)Drive adherence to SPDP stage-gate governance, ensuring clear decision points, deliverables, and readiness criteriaManage cross-functional engineering execution across R&D, testing, manufacturing engineering, procurement, and operationsDevelop and maintain integrated program schedules aligned to product development cycles and commercialization milestonesIdentify and manage technical, schedule, and cost risks with clear mitigation plansFacilitate design reviews, gate reviews, and readiness assessmentsEnsure alignment between product design and manufacturing capability (DFM/DFA, pilot builds, ramp-up)Track program KPIs including schedule, engineering maturity, quality, and launch readinessCoordinate prototype builds, validation testing, and industrialization activitiesDrive issue resolution and key trade-off decisions across engineering, cost, quality, and scheduleSupport engineering change processes (ECR/ECO), scope control, and requirements traceabilityEnsure supplier readiness and component availability for product launchesContribute to continuous improvement of SPDP and product development processesKey Requirements:7–10 years of experience leading engineering, product development, or NPI programsExperience with SPDP, Stage-Gate, or equivalent product development methodologiesStrong understanding of engineering development cycles, validation processes, and industrializationExperience in cross-functional environments across R&D, manufacturing, and supply chainAbility to manage technical complexity, dependencies, and cross-functional riskPMP preferred; Agile or hybrid methodology experience is a plusStrong communication and stakeholder alignment skills across engineering and operationsRequired Education, Certification & Training:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field required
