Associate Counsel

Under supervision of the General Counsel, the Associate Counsel executes the legal department’s representation of the business in a manner consistent with commercial objectives and compliant with applicable law.  The Associate Counsel is involved with a variety of legal matters affecting the global business, with an emphasis on negotiating and drafting commercial contracts.  This is a hybrid, full time position requiring a minimum of 3 days in our Melville, NY headquarters.Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Support the General Counsel with the drafting, negotiation and administration of client and business partner contracts as directedAssist with supervision and training of junior counsel. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that the interests of the company are appropriately represented in commercial agreementsDevelop and implement compliance-focused processes and proceduresConduct legal research. Required Skills, Education and ExperienceJ.D. degree and membership in New York State bar is required5+ years of legal experience as transactional legal counsel, ideally with a combination of law firm training and in-house experience in a technology companyExcellent drafting and negotiation skillsStrong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlinesStrong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detailTeam player and consensus builder who can effectively collaborate and build relationships with business leaders throughout the organizationStrong MS Office skills and research skillsPosition Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a hybrid, full time position with a minimum of 3 days in the office.
