Providing accessible and affordable healthcare for all, today and every day.CHCA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team at our Gustine clinic. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility with back office clinical support and front office administrative support, as needed. The regular work schedule will be Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and Wednesday 9am-6pm. Primarily will work at this site and may be asked to go to nearby sites for training or staffing support.Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Duties:Reception, answer phones and schedule appointmentsVerify insurance eligibility and coordinate with insurance companies for proper billing proceduresAssist patients with registration forms and maintain accurate files and medical recordsPerform data entry related to patient billing, transcription, and insurance claimsArrange for referralsProcess prescription requestsTrack inventory and suppliesFollow legal and ethical standards in all tasksClinical DutiesMeasure and record vital signs, patient interview, history and chief complaintProvide patient education on medication, disease management, home treatment and special dietsPrepare patients for examination and perform routine screening tests and assist healthcare providers with examsPhlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens, perform basic lab tests and EKGs, assist with x-rays and proceduresPrepare and administer medications with healthcare provider's authorizationChange dressing, apply bandages, remove sutures, perform CPR and other first aid proceduresMaintain supplies and equipment, stock and sterile instrumentsJoin us and make a difference in the lives of our patients by ensuring they receive the highest level of care.Benefits401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid sick timePaid time offVision insuranceRequirementsQualifications:2 years Medical Assistant experienceMedical Assistant (MA) certificationCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationBilingual fluency requiredEffective organizational and communication skillsAbility to learn and adapt to needs of the clinicWillingness to travel to other site, when neededHigh school diploma or equivalent
