Backend / Data Systems Engineer (Python)

Important — please read before applyingTo ensure a good fit, please review this carefully and answer the screening questions accurately.• This is not a junior or learning role • You must have built production backend systems • You must be comfortable working without step-by-step instructions • You must be able to commit at least 45+ hours per week • If you are working on multiple side projects, this role is unlikely to be a fitBackend / Data Systems Engineer (Python)What this role isDaixta is building a financial intelligence layer for lending, starting with how bank statement data is interpreted in underwriting workflows.You will work on an existing production system, improving how financial data is processed, structured, and used in decision workflows.This is an execution-focused role, not an exploratory one.What you will do- Build and improve backend systems and data pipelines (PDF → structured data) - Handle real-world inconsistencies and edge cases in financial data - Implement clear, deterministic logic (not ML experimentation) - Improve and extend an existing production system - Deliver production-ready outputs, not drafts What we are looking for- Strong backend development experience (Python preferred) - Experience building production systems end-to-end - Experience working with non-standard / inconsistent data - Ability to make implementation decisions independently - Ability to think in systems and logic, not just code This role is not- Not an ML / AI research role - Not a data science experimentation role - Not a junior or entry-level position - Not suitable if you are managing multiple active projects Work style- High ownership, minimal supervision - Fast iteration, clear thinking - Accountability for real outputs Applications that do not clearly meet the above criteria may not be considered.
