Type:TemporaryFull Time or Part Time:Full-TimePay Rate:$33 per hourLocation:St. Augustine, FL 32084 – OnsiteLanguage Requirements:Write, read, and speak EnglishLanguage Preferences:Write, read, and speak SpanishJob OverviewWe are seeking a Recycling Coordinator to support recycling initiatives, environmental programming, and public outreach efforts within the Refuse/Landfill division.This role is responsible for coordinating community outreach, developing educational materials, supporting compliance programs, and assisting with environmental initiatives such as NPDES permitting. The Recycling Coordinator will engage with the public, respond to inquiries, organize events, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainability and proper waste management practices. The position requires strong communication skills, analytical ability, and a proactive approach to program coordination. Performs other duties as assigned.Experience RequirementsMinimum of six (6) years of combined education and experience in environmental programs, public outreach, communications, or a related fieldExperience conducting public outreach, presentations, or community engagement initiativesExperience researching, analyzing, and developing program materials, reports, or documentationExperience coordinating events, programs, or community initiativesExperience responding to customer or citizen inquiries and resolving concernsKnowledge of environmental regulations, policies, or compliance programsStrong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsValid Florida driver's licenseStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skillsExperience PreferencesExperience with recycling programs, solid waste management, or sustainability initiativesExperience with NPDES permitting or environmental compliance programsExperience preparing grant applications, agreements, or bid documentsFamiliarity with local, state, and federal environmental regulationsExperience working in government or municipal operationsHousehold Hazardous Waste Operator certification or ability to obtain within six (6) monthsPhysical RequirementsAbility to work in both office and outdoor environmentsAbility to stand, walk, and perform field-related activities as neededAbility to lift and carry materials up to 25 lbsAbility to operate equipment such as scales when requiredEducation RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalentEducation PreferencesBachelor's degree in a related field such as Environmental Science, Communications, or Public AdministrationTraining Schedule:TBDSchedule:Monday through Friday; hours may varyMay require evenings, weekends, and attendance at community events as neededDress Code:TBDBenefits:TBDAdditional Information:Drug screening, background, and reference checks are performed if required.
