Dean is seeking summer interns to support its Marketing & Communications department. These paid positions offer experience at a large engineering and technology company based in the Washington, D.C. metro area.?The marketing and communications team is enhancing the company's brand and digital presence to support marketing, communications, and branding programs. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates to gain cross-disciplinary experience, including strategic marketing and market intelligence, branding, web development, social media, internal?communications?and corporate social responsibility within a dynamic team.?ResponsibilitiesResponsibilitiesResearching, writing, editing, and coordinating content for the firm's website, intranet, social media sites, and marketing materialsAssisting with promotions, events, client meetings, and special projectsSupporting website maintenance by preparing and uploading new content, and monitoring SEO effectivenessSupporting corporate and sub brand refresh efforts, including research, documentation, template updates, and training materials.Collaborating with leadership, technical, and marketing communications team members in the preparation of content and/or graphics for digital or print-based materialsProviding research, tracking, and analytics support for integrated marketing campaignsSupporting market intelligence, competitive analysis and market segmentation research and reporting effortsQualificationsRequired Skills / QualificationsPrevious experience, internship, or coursework in marketing or related fieldExcellent written communications skillsAn eagerness to learn fast, work hard, and produce quality workThe ability to operate successfully both on independent assignments and as part of a teamDemonstrated ability to work under tight deadlinesA willingness to handle routine, repetitive tasksProblem-solving and resourcefulness to tackle more complex and substantive workStrong writing and editing skillsDemonstrated analytical skills with research experienceOrganizational skills and attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Availability to work full time (40 hours/week) during the summerDesired SkillsKnowledge of Associate Press style guidelinesKnowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and basic HTMLExperience with data/statistical analysis toolsExperience with social media distribution and tracking tools and Google AnalyticsPreference will be given to graduate students, undergraduate seniors, or recent graduatesEducation / ExperienceCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related degree fieldCompletion of advanced coursework in writing, research, campaign development, and marketing analytics strongly preferredAbilitiesExposure to computer screens for an extended period of timeSitting for extended periods of timeReach by extending hands or arms in any directionHave finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboardListen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentencesCommunicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understandRead and understand information and ideas presented in writingApply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make senseIdentify?and understand the speech of another person
