Senior DevOps/Data EngineerLocation: Coopersburg, PA (Hybrid – 2 to 3 days onsite per week)Employment Type: Full-Time Preferred (Open to Contract and Contract-to-Hire)OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps/Data Engineer with strong DevOps expertise and experience supporting cloud-based data platforms. This role will focus primarily on platform operations, infrastructure modernization, CI/CD automation, cloud-native technologies, and management of data pipelines within an AWS environment.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and Python-based ETL/ELT frameworks. This position requires collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, QA, and business teams to ensure platform reliability, security, scalability, and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesDevOps & Platform EngineeringManage, maintain, and enhance cloud-native infrastructure and platform services.Support platform upgrades, version management, patching, and maintenance activities.Implement and improve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.Build, optimize, and support CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.Administer containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.Data Engineering & Pipeline OperationsModify, monitor, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and real-time processing.Support AWS-based data platforms and data integration workflows.Troubleshoot pipeline failures and optimize performance and reliability.Work closely with data and analytics teams to ensure data availability and quality.Security, Testing & GovernanceApply security patches and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities.Execute integration, platform, and functional testing following upgrades.Validate application behavior after infrastructure and code changes.Participate in governance reviews and provide regular status reporting.Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and best practices.Development SupportImplement minor to moderate application changes using Python.Update and maintain unit tests to support platform and application enhancements.Resolve compatibility and dependency issues across infrastructure and applications.Required Skills & Experience9+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related roles.Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.Expertise in AWS cloud services and cloud migration strategies.Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines.Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.Experience supporting ETL/ELT pipelines and data platform operations.Proficiency in Python.Experience with Amazon Redshift, Amazon RDS, and Amazon Athena.Experience with platform upgrades, maintenance, patching, and dependency management.Strong understanding of integration testing and platform validation.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Preferred QualificationsAWS or Data Engineering certifications.Experience with machine learning or advanced analytics pipelines.Knowledge of SAP OData Services.Experience with BI tool integrations.Consulting or large-scale digital transformation experience.Exposure to relational and NoSQL databases.EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.Master’s degree is a plus.Relevant cloud, DevOps, or data engineering certifications preferred.
