START DATE: 8/1/2026Appropriate placement on the Alabama Community College System salary schedule E5-06 (salary is prorated based upon 10 month schedule). For any questions or additional information, please contact the Human Resources Department at Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAt a minimum, the essential functions of this position shall include:Performs all kitchen setup responsibilities in accordance with sanitary procedures. Washes dishes during all meals in accordance with sanitary procedures. Keeps all kitchen, cafeteria, and cafeteria restrooms spaces clean at all times in accordance with sanitary procedures. Empties trash and replaces liners throughout day. Performs all cash registering duties. Keeps all cleaning products in proper storage in accordance with sanitary procedures. Receives deliveries and verifies quantity and quality of products. Puts deliveries away in freezer, cooler, and storeroom immediately in accordance with procedures. Performs meal preparation including, but not limited to: Preps desserts for lunch. Prepares all utensils, water buckets, etc. Sets up line for dinner. Serves on lunch line from 11:00 am to 1:15 pm or 4:15 pm to 6:00 pm Performs preparation of next day business based upon shift in accordance with preparation procedures. Helps other cafeteria staff as necessary. Performs weekly cleaning tasks in accordance with weekly cleaning procedures. QualificationsRequired QualificationsHigh School diploma or a general education equivalent to compulsory attendance requirements established by the laws of the State of Alabama. Working knowledge of food service operations. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours. Ability to think quickly, clearly, and analytically when confronted with a problem. Preferred QualificationsPrevious food service experience. Computer skills, including cash registering. Basic math skills, including cash handling. Sick LeaveAll regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement.
