Desktop engineer / System engineer

Role: PC Refresh Tech/Systems Engineer Location: Onsite/ Amarillo, TexasDuration: 8+ MonthsProvide onsite field technician support for a large-scale enterprise PC refresh initiative across Amarillo, TX. Technicians will work under client direction, following established deployment standards, tools, and processes without introducing new methods independently. The role involves executing daily PC refresh activities, including device staging, imaging, configuration, deployment, and transition from legacy systems. Responsibilities include performing pre-deployment checks, validating connectivity and application access, and coordinating deployment schedules with users and site leads.Technicians will engage directly with end users for device handoff, assist with first-time login, and provide immediate post-deployment support, including troubleshooting hardware, network, and profile issues. They will also manage legacy device collection, ensuring proper data validation, packaging, and disposition according to policy.Accurate documentation and tracking are critical, requiring updates to asset systems, ticketing tools, and status reports. Participation in regular coordination meetings is expected. The team consists of four PC Refresh Technicians with a mix of senior and intermediate experience. Strong skills in PC refresh, troubleshooting, customer service, and end-user support are essential, with process improvement suggestions considered a plus.
