Dining Room Manager

North Oaks Communities LLC is seeking a dynamic Dining Room Manager who wants to make a difference in the lives of seniors each day. Conveniently located in Pikesville, Maryland, we are close to I-695 and Reisterstown Road.The Dining Room Manager is responsible for the overall operation, coordination, appearance, and maintenance of the dining area and server station and ensure that courteous and efficient services are delivered to create a satisfying, fine dining experience for North Oaks residents and guests.Essential DutiesSupervises the physical appearance of the dining room area and server stations including pedestals, chairs, rugs, drapes, flooring, light fixtures, etc.Supervises the appearance of dining room tables, including table linens, napkins, silverware, table setup, centerpieces, etc.Schedules work assignments for all dining room personnel, assigning specific jobs and spot-checking to ensure standards and Hospitality Promises are met.Maintains pertinent and appropriate records, reports, files, schedules and studies.Advises Director of Food & Beverage regarding dining room status.In coordination with the Director of Food & Beverage, is responsible for planning, hiring, scheduling, training, supervising, counseling, performance evaluations, and retention of dining room personnel.Provides the Director of Food & Beverage with the development, implementation and maintenance of written dining room service objectives and standards of practice with procedures for implementation.In conjunction with the Director of Food & Beverage develops and updates an orientation and education plan for new hires and ongoing education for existing staff.Ensures that staff education is provided to dining room personnel in accordance with the staff education plans, plus provides job training for dining room personnel.Ensures that dining room service is in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations in relation to service, sanitation and personnel.Assists Food and Beverage Director in preparing menus and preparing meals accordingly.Ensures order accuracy and the smooth operation of the dining program.Oversees meal delivery service and satisfaction.Plans and assists in preparation of special needs for parties, banquets, etc. Oversees all catering events.Supervises the Dining Room Supervisor and front-of-house employees.Round and be visible during meal service and ensure staff service and guest satisfaction.Oversees opening and closing of the dining room, including all check lists, station assignments, and completion of huddles.Oversees regulatory compliance with alcohol serving requirements.Serves as a role model and leader.Ensure compliance with labor and staffing plans.Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.Observes all safety rules and regulations.HIPAA Compliance – follows written policies and procedures to ensure confidentiality of protected health information.OIG Compliance – follows written policies and procedures to comply with the federal and state laws and regulations.Interacts with residents and coworkers in a friendly and respectful manner.Assists with back-of-house operations as assigned.Other DutiesMaintains a safe environment for residents, guests and staff.Inspects equipment to determine repair or maintenance needs and cleanliness.Participates in cost control measures.Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.Is available for emergencies to ensure continued food service to residents and employees.QualificationsA minimum of two years supervisory experience in "front and back of the house operations" within restaurant, hotel, club or similar institution.Excellent communication, interpersonal and social skills in order to work effectively with residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, subordinates and other outside contacts.Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.Servsafe certified or be willing to become servsafe certified.Completion of Maryland TAM alcohol management training.Compliance with North Oaks Vaccination requirements.Physical Requirements / Working ConditionsLight to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the workday. Ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
