This role partners closely with the Senior Manager of FP&A and operational leaders to deliver actionable insights that drive profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency.This position requires a strong understanding of production environments, cost structures, and inventory accounting, along with the ability to translate financial and operational data into meaningful business insights. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy in determining analytical approaches and executing work within established financial guidelines.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning and ForecastingSupport annual budgeting, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planningDevelop and maintain financial models for revenue, cost, and margin forecastingPartner with operations to develop assumptions for volumes, pricing, labor, and materialsAlign operating forecasts with capital planning and financial targetsIdentify cost savings opportunities and operational improvementsSupport non-financial leaders in budgeting and forecasting processesFinancial Reporting and Performance AnalysisPrepare monthly reporting packages and variance analysisAnalyze key drivers such as pricing, volume, labor, materials, and cost allocationsEvaluate production costs, plant efficiency, and product line profitabilityMonitor KPIs such as utilization, inventory turnover, and equipment performanceProvide clear explanations of financial variances and forward-looking insightsAnalyze general ledger activity to identify trends, risks, and opportunitiesDevelop operational knowledge through plant and site visitsStrategic and Decision SupportSupport capital investment analysis including ROI and payback calculationsAssist with scenario planning and sensitivity modelingProvide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-makingBusiness Process Improvement and SystemsEnhance financial reporting through improved tools and analytics to increase speed, accuracy, and transparencyEvaluate and improve financial processes and standard operating proceduresSupport system optimization and reporting capabilities (ERP, reporting tools, and BI platforms)Partner with Operations and Sales to promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredCPA or CMA certification preferred5 to 10 or more years of experience in FP&A, cost accounting, or operations finance requiredStrong understanding of cost accounting, inventory processes, and transfer pricingExperience in aggregates, construction materials, mining, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industries preferredAdvanced Excel And Financial Modeling Skills RequiredExperience with ERP systems (Vista by Trimble strongly preferred), BI tools, and reporting platformsAbility to work independently and partner effectively with cross-functional leadershipKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to translate complex financial data into actionable business insightsStrong communication and presentation skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong business acumen and operational awarenessWork EnvironmentPrimarily office-based with regular collaboration across departmentsPeriodic travel to plant and operational sites to support analysis and business partnershipEqual Opportunity EmployerSunrock is an Equal Opportunity Employer and makes all employment decisions without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, citizen status, or any other legally protected status under local, state, or federal law.
