This individual will be instrumental in managing the company s accounting operations, producing financial reports, and overseeing key financial controls. This person will need to be based in the Chicago area and make periodic visits to a regional office. This position will be worked on a remote, interim, contract basis.Additionally, the Controller will be instrumental in maintaining strong internal process controls and leading a team of accounting professionals. The Controller will play a vital role in ensuring financial stability and transparency across the organization s operations. If you're a proactive accounting leader with a strong track record and a passion for driving financial excellence, we would love to hear from you.Location: Remote, but based in Chicago, with periodic trips to a regional officeType: Interim contractStart: September 2024Position Duties:Manage the company's accounting operations and P&L.Lead cost-controlling initiatives to ensure expenses are within budget and in alignment with organizational financial goals.Prepare monthly financial reporting package and other related reports.Full oversight of Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP).Participate in the month-end and year-end closing process.Work with suppliers as it relates to payables and with distributors as it relates to collections.Serve as main contact with the outside CPA firm and help prepare the audit and tax workpapers of company accounts.Manage, utilize and motivate staff to efficiently meet goals and objectives of the department.Qualifications:Proven and successful accounting & finance team leadership experience.Hands on experience in the various aspects of accounting functions (strong debits & credits).Hands on leadership that will be responsible for a team of 5 including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Analyst, Sr. Accountant.Solid Excel skills including pivot tables.Proactive communication and leadership skills.Equipment maintenance industry is a plus, but not a must.Bachelor s Degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience.CPA designation is a plus, but not a must.Let's take the next step in advancing your career!Apply to this position by simply clicking the APPLY button below.
