Millwright

We are seeking an experienced Millwright to support operations in our Johnson Concrete block manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment used in the manufacturing of concrete masonry units. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience in industrial environments, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a heavy manufacturing setting. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial manufacturing equipment including block machines, mixers, conveyors, curing systems, palletizers, and related machinery Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime Perform preventive and predictive maintenance per established schedules Fabricate and modify components using welding, cutting, grinding, and machining tools as needed Align, level, and balance motors, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, and drive systems Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and work orders Assist with equipment upgrades, plant improvements, and new equipment installations Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues to management Follow all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and lockout/tagout procedures Work flexible hours, including overtime or weekends, as required to support production Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred 3–5 years of millwright or industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (concrete, aggregate, or heavy industry preferred) Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial power transmission Welding experience (MIG, stick, or torch) preferred Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and lifting equipment Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in hot, dusty, and industrial conditions Preferred Experience Experience in block, precast, or aggregate manufacturing Basic electrical knowledge (motors, VFDs, sensors) Experience with CMU block machines Shift: 4AM - 4PM based on production demands. Weekends are required as needed. Pay rate for this position will be based on experience.
