Your duties will include, but are not limited to:Installing and wiring routers/switches, coordinating for configuration and troubleshooting.Install and provision of transport equipment and ethernet services supporting MPLS networkTesting, deployment, and documentation supporting system upgrades, patches, and maintenance windowactivities.Respond to system and service outages as well as storm/disaster supportParticipate in maintenance window cutovers and system groomsInstallation and wiring of routers/switches along with coordination with multiple groups for configuration andtroubleshooting.Effectively identify and utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches toproblems encountered in work assignments.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & ExperienceThe knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:3+ years in telecommunications and a minimum of two years of experience working in a Telco central officeenvironment.Working knowledge of fiber circuits, MPLS and other LAN/WAN data circuits.Skilled in the termination and troubleshooting of various cabling types to include fiber.Knowledge of fiber terminations, data circuits, 48V and 135Vdc power plants.Experience with DC plant systems, LAN and wireless testing, fiber optic test equipment, and various cablingtypesFamiliarity with cable identification, terminating cables, and Channel Banks.Prioritize safety, environmental consciousness, and attention to detailPhysical ability to lift 45 pounds and distinguish colorsValid driver's licenseElectrical/Electronic background and SCADA knowledge are a plus.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writingExperienced using Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and SpreadsheetsProficient with Ethernet circuits and DWDM systems.Available for call outs, weekend work, occasional overtime, and air travelStrong communication skills and ability to work independentlySelf-starter with a focus on safe work habits and behaviors.Ability to keep work sites clean and organized.Education RequirementsRequired degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree):High School Diploma or GEDLicenses, Certifications, or Quals DescriptionWorking ConditionsCold Up to 25%Energized Wires Up to 25%Heat Up to 25%Loud Noise Up to 25%Operating Machinery Up to 25%Outdoors Up to 25%Dust / Grease / Oil Up to 25%Other Working ConditionsMay require some travel with overnight stays.
