Below are the job responsibility areas which the teacher assistant is expected to fulfill.Essential FunctionsTeacher Aide Job DescriptionA Teacher Aide ("Aide") shall have the duty and responsibility to meet the following standards and requirements:Demonstrates understanding of the mission, philosophy, values, and teaching principles of ISPDemonstrates understanding of the PYP framework for teaching and learning in the Early YearsWorks to create strong relationships with the students based on trust,Demonstrate an understanding of the developmental stages and needs of young children.Supports the children to access the curriculum through inquiry-rich experiencesAssists the Teacher and supports students to access the curriculum through inquiry-rich learning engagementsAssists children individually and in small groups under the teacher's guidance to support their learning.Assists the teacher by observing and recording student performance as requested to assess progress.Becomes familiar with the rules and regulations of the Oregon Child Care DivisionEnsures necessary professional development is taken to maintain EC licenseConducts themselves appropriately and professionally at all timesIs present on campus during the times identified as ISP work hoursAttends IS Meetings and events when requested by the Head of SchoolReports to the Teacher and carries out such additional duties as are assigned and consistent with the role of a Teacher's AideCollaborative team player who can work together with students, faculty colleagues, the administrative team, parents/community, and work independentlyProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)Experience with Google Suite (Gmail, Google docs, Google Calendar) is preferredAdditional duties may be assigned by the Head of EC and or Head of School.Participation in staff collaboration events and training opportunitiesWorking Conditions/Physical RequirementsDuring peak activity periods, this position may require working in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week.Capable of quickly traveling to multiple locations on school campus including up and down hills, lifting or otherwise carrying 40 pounds, traveling up/down flights of stairs, standing and sitting for long durations,Ability to handle the physical demands of working with young childrenAbility to travel occasionally to attend off-site eventsRequired QualificationsAt least 6 months experience working with Early Childhood or Elementary age childrenDemonstrated proficiency in written and spoken EnglishNative level fluency in the target language along with demonstrated ability to support teaching the target languagePreferred Qualifications1-2 years of professional teaching experience in a language immersion classroomBachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Teaching/Education or equivalent experienceCertification for teaching target languagePrevious PYP experience or trainingTo apply directly: https://intlschool.isolvedhire.com/jobs/We are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
