Environmental Permitting Specialist
Borealis Mining Company, LLC is a gold mining and exploration company focused on exploration and resumption of production at the Borealis Mine in Nevada. The Borealis Mine is a fully permitted mine site, equipped with active heap leach pads, ADR facility, and all necessary infrastructure to support heap leach gold mining operations. The Environmental Permitting Specialist plays a key role at Borealis, obtaining permits for the advancement of mine operations and exploration and maintaining compliance with our existing permits. Responsibilities• All aspects of permit acquisition from coordination with regulatory authorities, preparing application contents and submittals, and review of draft permits until issuance;• Permit implementation by establishing regulatory permit trackers and mitigation and obligation registers;• Assist in organizing and structuring environmental permitting files and documentation;• Assist with developing environmental management systems;• Developing and implementing environmental policies and practices in accordance with the project’s local regulatory and environmental authorities;Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Engineering, Biological Sciences, or similar technical discipline, and/or equivalent work experience;• 5-10 years of experience in environmental management role preferred• Extensive knowledge of environmental regulation, laws, and implementation;• Strong communication and organizational skills
