Navigator & Program Specialist - Early Stage & Engagement (F/T)

CaringKind is seeking a dedicated Program Specialist to play a pivotal role in our Early-Stage programs, designed to support individuals living with dementia and their families. This role focuses on delivering research-backed services and fostering social/community engagement, available in person at our Manhattan offices and partner locations, and virtually. Reporting to the Director of Early-Stage and Engagement Services. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and/co-facilitate in-person and virtual evidence-based small group programs, including music therapy, cognitive stimulation therapy, psycho-social education workshops, support groups, and art/music/exercise/social engagement activities. • Conduct program and needs assessments, as well as intake and follow-up interviews with individuals experiencing mild cognitive impairment (MCI). • Provide Helpline coverage to offer information, triage, emotional support, and referrals to individuals and families. • Coordinate and support social engagement initiatives, including virtual and in-person events, community partnerships, and monthly program communications. • Cultivate and nurture community and referral relationships through closed-loop communications. • Collaborates with CaringKind team members to anticipate and foster smooth transitions across the dementia services continuum as clients’ needs change and progress to provide ongoing opportunities for family members. • Provide services in community-based satellite locations and with special and targeted populations to increase equity, access, and inclusion. • Represent CaringKind at education seminars, outreach events, and community tabling opportunities. Expectations and Required Skills: • Master’s degree in music therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, drama therapy, occupational therapy, social work, recreation therapy, counseling, psychology, public health, gerontology, or a combination of education and significant related experience. • 2+ years of experience working in dementia/aging services. • Strong group facilitation and interpersonal skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • High level of technological competency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Zoom, email marketing platforms, web calendar/content management systems, and Salesforce. • Experience and passion for working with individuals who have Alzheimer’s or other dementias, as well as with diverse populations and cultures. • Ability to adjust and strengthen smooth transitions across different program components. • Bilingual/multilingual fluency is a plus. Salary Range: $65-70 annually Please send a cover letter outlining your interest, education, experience, and salary requirements along with your resume to: jobs@wearecaringkind.org.
