The Pike County Board of Education is accepting applications for a Contract High School PrincipalProbationary High School Principal: The Board seeks an experienced administrator with demonstrated success at the high school level to serve as principal at Goshen High School in Goshen, Alabama. Goshen high School is a rural school with an enrollment of approximately 400 students and a faculty and staff of approximately 45. Goshen, Alabama is located in Southeast Alabama approximately 45 miles southeast of Montgomery, Alabama.Qualifications:Applicants must have a minimum of a Master's Degree in School Administration or related field. Education Specialist or Doctorate preferred.Alabama Class A Certificate or above in School Administration.Five years of successful administrative experience with three years of minimum experience at the high school or middle school level. Previous high school principalship experience preferred.Proven success as an instructional leader at the high school level.Knowledge/skills in: oral and written communication, collaboration, assessment/measure/evaluation, organization, planning, law & policy, problem solving, innovation, technology utilization & management, school operations/management, professional responsibilities, leadership of human resources, public relations and building community support.Core Values/Skills:Candidates must be able to recognize quality classroom instruction, be knowledgeable in educational research and committed to ensuring that best practices are being used in each classroom, confront substandard performance by classroom teachers when necessary, and celebrate excellence in teaching.
