Associate Scientist

The Associate Scientist coordinates cell sciences lab operations to lead the production of cell-related intermediates, including hybridoma-derived purified monoclonal antibodies and cell culture products for QC samples. This role supports troubleshooting and operational capability across the Manufacturing Services team to address root causes and drive actions impacting KPIs. This position reports to the Manufacturing Services Manager and is based on-site in Eugene, Oregon.ResponsibilitiesManage operations for the manufacturing cell culture lab in compliance with safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity targetsContribute to the operational capability of the Manufacturing Services team as a technical expert and flex resource across multiple value streamsCollaborate within the Manufacturing Services team to schedule and plan the week's workManage cell culture lab equipment maintenance and repairTroubleshoot and root cause cell-related process failures and QC-failsEssential requirementsBachelor's degree with 5+ years of industry experience, or equivalent experience in a related fieldAbility to manage priorities and communicate effectively within the team and with outside functional teamsPositive attitude in challenging situations with an uplifting (yet realistic) outlook on future opportunitiesTravel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment RequirementsAbility to lift, move or carry equipment up to 30 lbsPreferred qualificationsExperience with Oracle Fusion or other ERP systemsExperience managing large data sets in Microsoft ExcelBenefits and equal opportunityAbcam, a Danaher operating company, offers comprehensive benefit programs, including paid time off and health coverage.
