("AEGIS") has an immediate opening for an Assistant Actuarial Analyst, Pricing to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of models, collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders such as Claims, Underwriting, and IT, and contribute to rate monitoring and adequacy analyses. The ideal candidate is analytically strong, a clear communicator, and actively pursuing membership in the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS).Job Requirements:Actuarial internship or relevant experience in the insurance industry desiredUndergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related disciplineCompletion of at least 1 CAS examProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis toolsDemonstrated ability to think programmatically and apply problem-solving skillsExposure to programming languages such as SAS, R, Python, SQL, and/or VBA is desired, with the ability to manipulate data, automate processes, and support model developmentCandidate Attributes:Collaborative Communications and Behavior: Develops and maintains effective working relationships as a team member and across divisions; readily collaborates and shares information, seeks and provides constructive feedback, and supports a respectful workplaceInitiative and Accountability: Proactively addresses opportunities to enhance AEGIS' people, processes, products, and services, takes ownership for one's responsibilities by acting with integrity and in the best interest of the organization and stakeholdersQuality-Focused: Demonstrates a solution-focus, displays thoroughness and accuracy through quality deliverables, and demonstrates persistence and perseverance in achieving concrete and tangible outcomesService-Oriented: Conveys a genuine desire and ability to anticipate and meet customer needs and creates and nurtures mutually beneficial relationships within AEGIS and with AEGIS Members and brokersEssential Job Functions:Support pricing analyses for large individual accounts, incorporating loss-sensitive program structures and translating underwriting objectives into actuarial frameworks using appropriate techniques and toolsAssist in producing monthly rate monitoring analyses, identifying trends and the underlying factors contributing to movements in rate levelsContribute to semi-annual reviews of rate adequacy and support the development of pricing strategies by analyzing historical performance, trend studies, industry benchmarks, and emerging risks to evaluate pricing effectiveness and inform strategic decision-makingSupport the development, maintenance, and enhancement of actuarial pricing models to support pricing requests and improve pricing precisionContribute to the development and implementation of predictive analytics tools to enhance pricing precision and identify new risk signalsAssist in maintaining thorough documentation of model assumptions, methodologies, and updates to ensure transparency and reproducibilityCollaborate closely with Underwriting and other business units to ensure pricing recommendations are well-informed and actuarially soundCommunicate complex actuarial concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders, supporting informed decision-makingMaintain steady progress toward CAS credentials and actively participate in internal training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and industry learning opportunitieswww.aegislink.comEOEAEGIS Insurance Services, Inc. participates in E-VerifyWe expect to pay a starting salary between $70,000 and $80,000. An applicant's placement within this range is based on their individual qualifications and professional experience.
