Quality Control Manager / Quality Manager (QC/QM Lead) – USACE South Shore Project (Staten Island)We are seeking a field-driven Quality Control Manager / Quality Manager (QC/QM Lead) to lead daily quality operations on a major USACE heavy civil project in Staten Island. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving project quality, maintaining compliance, and partnering closely with field leadership to keep production moving safely and efficiently.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience leading QC efforts in the field on USACE or other federal heavy civil projects and understands how to balance quality requirements with operational execution.ResponsibilitiesLead all project quality control activities from mobilization through closeoutDevelop, implement, and maintain the project Quality Control Plan (QCP)Manage daily QC operations, inspections, documentation, testing coordination, and corrective actionsCoordinate closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, SSHO, subcontractors, and field teams to maintain schedule and complianceEnsure all work complies with USACE quality standards, specifications, and contract requirementsMaintain accurate QC documentation, reports, submittals, and testing recordsSupport project readiness for audits, inspections, and owner reviewsTrack deficiencies and drive timely resolution of non-conforming workParticipate in preparatory meetings, initial inspections, and follow-up inspectionsPromote a proactive quality culture across the project teamRequired QualificationsProven hands-on experience as a QC/QM Lead or Quality Control Manager on heavy civil construction projectsStrong working knowledge of USACE quality control requirements and documentation processesExperience with RMS/QCS strongly preferredFamiliarity with EM 385-1-1 safety standardsAbility to lead field-based QC activities independently and proactivelyExperience coordinating inspections, materials testing, and subcontractor quality activitiesStrong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively across field and management teamsPreferred ExperiencePrevious experience on USACE federal projectsExperience on marine, shoreline, infrastructure, earthwork, or civil resiliency projectsCurrent USACE CQM certification preferredWhy Join UsKey leadership role on a high-profile USACE projectOpportunity to directly influence project execution and quality outcomesCollaborative field-focused environment with strong operational leadershipLong-term project stability and career growth opportunities
