Program Mentor - Youth At Work (Temporary)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Mentor is responsible for providing program participants with ongoing mentoring and assistance with employability skills, including resume writing, career exploration, interviewing techniques, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication. The mentor shall assess employability of participants and counsel participants on vocational and educational needs; conduct group and individual on the job coaching sessions and draw connections to various learnings throughout their employment.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Punctuality Proven ability to build relationships and trust quicklyExperience working with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)Strong verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Willingness and ability to maintain a flexible work schedule when necessary, consistent with the demands of the programPrior experience working with opportunity or “at-risk” youth, including knowledge of the Seattle Public School System Valid WA State Driver’s License ULMS Total Compensation – Part-Time Employees And Temporary Employees PTO accrued at 0.07361 per hour worked Employee Assistance Program - :$37.80 per year LinkedIn Learning Account Professional Development Funds – up to $1500 per year for approved professional development activities WA State Paid Family & Medical Leave – 0.8% of salary - 100% employer paidWorkers Compensation Coverage - $395.20 - $3,591.33 per year (depending on class code)Taxes – 9.8% of salary
