Controller

We are looking for a Controller to lead the accounting function and provide reliable financial insight that supports business decisions in Mount Kisco, New York. This position oversees core financial activities, strengthens reporting accuracy, and helps ensure sound controls across the organization. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach to financial management along with the leadership skills to guide a high-performing accounting team.Responsibilities:• Direct the day-to-day work of the accounting team, ensuring accurate management of the general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations.• Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to deliver timely and dependable financial results.• Produce and evaluate financial statements and internal reports for leadership, highlighting trends and key business drivers.• Establish and maintain effective internal control practices that protect assets and support adherence to company policies and regulatory obligations.• Lead the planning cycle for budgets and forecasts while monitoring cash position and liquidity needs.• Assess financial results against plans and provide recommendations to senior leaders to improve performance and decision-making.• Oversee compliance with tax rules, corporate standards, and other applicable financial reporting requirements.• Manage, coach, and develop accounting personnel to build capability, accountability, and strong team execution.• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance reporting quality, financial systems effectiveness, and overall operational efficiency.• Demonstrated experience leading accounting and financial reporting activities in a Controller or similar leadership role.• Strong knowledge of general ledger management, financial close procedures, and preparation of financial statements.• Experience designing and enforcing internal controls, compliance practices, and risk-aware accounting processes.• Proven ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis in a business environment.• Strong leadership skills with experience supervising staff, setting priorities, and supporting team development.• Ability to interpret financial performance and communicate practical recommendations to senior management.• Familiarity with tax compliance requirements and applicable accounting regulations.• High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to improve processes and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
