The ideal candidate will emphasize mentoring, educating, and developing student-athletes in all phases of their growth through a comprehensive, year-round approach that supports - and does not negatively impact - multi-sport athletes.Compensation: Salary Range - $5,760 - $6,160 - will be in accordance with Schedule B of the Teacher Master Agreement.Westonka Public Schools, ISD #277 is located 21 miles west of Minneapolis on the western bays of Lake Minnetonka. Westonka High School is a member of the Wright County Conference and Section 2AA.QualificationsStrong knowledge of soccer demonstrated through successful playing and/or coaching experiencePreferred 3-5 years of post-graduate experience as a head or assistant coach at the high school or collegiate levelOutstanding communication and interpersonal skillsExceptional customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and community stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and handle a high volume of detailed workFlexibility and willingness to work as part of a teamBachelor's degree preferred Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement detailed in-season and out-of-season player development plans, including daily practice plans and long-term goal settingPromote and support the strength and conditioning program year-roundProvide educational guidance and support to student-athletesCreate and execute short- and long-term fundraising plans aligned with program and facility goalsFoster leadership, sportsmanship, and character development on and off the fieldOrganize and participate in community service and team-building activitiesAssist student-athletes with college recruiting and post-secondary planningProvide strong leadership and clear communication to all stakeholders, including assistant coaches and program administration Program AdministrationOversee and maintain practice and game facilities, equipment, and inventoryManage regular season game scheduling and practice schedulesCommunicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administration, and athletic trainers regarding injuries and player statusBuild and maintain positive working relationships with athletic department staff and community partnersSupervise assistant coaches, including setting expectations, defining roles, and providing professional development opportunitiesOrganize youth summer camps on campus in collaboration with Community Education (STP)Maintain clean, organized facilities Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to participate in physically demanding activities and manual tasksAbility to occasionally perform desk/computer work and lift or move objects up to 40 lbs Working ConditionsEvening, weekend, and extended hours requiredAbility to work irregular schedules during the season Coach/Advisor Responsibilities (Under Normal Circumstances)Submit practice schedules to the Activities Director at least 3 months prior to the seasonComplete non-conference schedules 6 months prior to the seasonEnsure assistant coaches are approved and in place 3 months prior to the seasonBuild and maintain relationships with the youth soccer programOrder supplies at least 3 months prior to the seasonDevelop and maintain a detailed year-round player development planCollaborate with the Activities Director on facility improvements and fundraising plansAttend monthly Booster Club meetings (if applicable)Submit transportation requests 1 month prior to the seasonPlan community service and team-building events (approved at the Pre-Season Meeting)Schedule pre-season meeting, banquet, and team photo day 3 months prior to the seasonSubmit uniform requests 8-9 months prior to the seasonSubmit STP camp/clinic plans to the Activities Director for approvalApplication Procedure:
