Overview Contract Duration: 12 Weeks GTD Hours: 36 Shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM Schedule: Should be flexible to work on all days Facility Type: SNF/LTC We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Travel Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and community health environments. The ideal candidate will possess a versatile skill set, including experience with diverse medical procedures, EMR systems, and specialized patient populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients across multiple settings, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and clinical standards. Perform detailed patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining aseptic techniques. Manage complex medical procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, wound suturing, and ventilator management. Document patient information meticulously using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with case management teams to facilitate smooth transitions of care. Conduct triage assessments in urgent care or emergency environments to prioritize patient needs effectively. Assist with specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin injections for ophthalmology or esthetic laser procedures where applicable. Support infection control practices and maintain sterile processing standards in accordance with hospital policies. Engage in continuous learning about advanced clinical techniques including trauma medicine, ICU procedures, hospice & palliative care, and acute pain management. Experience Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospital medicine, emergency rooms, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric ICU), or trauma centers. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms. Strong background in critical care experience, cardiac catheterization procedures, and infectious disease care. Familiarity with medical coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 for accurate documentation. Experience providing care for special populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal ventilator management, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia. Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and post-acute care practices is advantageous. Ability to perform advanced skills such as phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, airway management, and gastrostomy tube feeding. Prior travel nursing experience is preferred but not required; candidates should demonstrate adaptability to varied clinical settings.
