QUALIFICATIONS:Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED18 to 30 years old who has self-identified with first-hand experience with social, emotional, medical, development, substance use, and or behavioral challengesSkillsAbility to advocate for self and othersAbility to communicate clearly, including active listeningKnowledge of recovery approachesThe ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 40 lbs.Ability to legally operate a vehicle in NY StateII. RESPONSIBLE TO: SupervisorIII. MAJOR FUNCTIONS:Complete credentialing requirements and participate in on-going continuing educationProvide peer to peer supportShare common experiencesParticipate in care planningProvide transportationFacilitate community orientation/integrationActively participate in scheduled supervisionFacilitate support groupsAssist others in recovery based on individual need and cultural considerationsParticipate in all required trainingRepresent the Agency and program in the community and with other service providersRegular and substantial contact with individuals receiving supportPerform other related tasks as directed by supervisorIn compliance with all applicable government laws, rules, regulations and standards and all Catholic Charities Policies and Procedures the duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the above.Catholic Charities of Broome County is an equal opportunity employer.
