Cash Applications Specialist

Primary Purpose:The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for providing accurate, efficient, and timely posting of customer payments according to the remittance details or posting of non-receivable payments to the general ledger. The role will process adjustments and write offs as required by Accounts Receivable and Accounting.What you will do:Post daily bank deposits in ERP SAP Business Workplace (workflow). Analyze each customer’s payment through observation, research and communication with AR andcustomers to facilitate proper cash application against receivablesPosting of non-receivable payments to general ledger accounts in ERP through communication with accountingPosting and reconciliation of credit card paymentsProcess accounts receivable daily incoming payment files (ACH, Checks and Wires) in bank system (IREC)Execute payment research and adjustment requestsProcess returned payment itemsProcess AR refund requests for cash on accountWrite off MPD and Discount requestsMaintain MICR numbers, customer groups and aliases from records in bank systemWhat you will need:High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.1-2 years of cash applications posting experience in a lockbox high volume payment processing environment. OCR processing experience a plusAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and OutlookKnowledge and experience working in SAP or other major ERP systemKnowledge and experience working in Bank of America CashPro or other bank systemAdvanced payment research skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh volume data entryExcellent attention to detail and accuracy, ability to adhere to multiple deadlines and multi-taskCross functional team collaborationMust possess excellent organization, time management and prioritization skillsAbility to be flexible and adapt to changing policies and proceduresExcellent customer service (internal & external)Where you will work: Dublin, OH hybrid 3x a week in officeIt takes people like you and a global network of more than 9,500 employees to build a company where the best people want to work.
