Hotel Maintenance Manager

ScopeOn a day to day basis, the Maintenance Manager evaluates set work orders and projects in regards to priority and need of immediate attention. They schedule and assign the workload for the day to the respective engineering personnel. They also reports to the General Manager the progress and status of work being done as well as personally carrying out the completion of any number and variety of work orders. These work orders can range from roofing and structural to plumbing and electrical problems.QualificationsLicense/Certification: Professional Certification and license if required by law.Certification in HVAC preferred.Valid driver’s license from appropriate state and MVR in good standing.ExperienceAt least 5 years in a working capacity in a hotel Engineering Department.Previous Department Managerial Experience Preferred, But Not Required.Some financial knowledge and computer skills required.Physical/Cognitive ActivitiesWorking outdoors. Working in high places, such as roof tops. Working in close confining areas. Long hours sometimes required, including nights and weekend. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force Frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.Ability to stand for long hours at a time and to work in confined spaces when necessary. Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly, both oral and written. Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately. Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations including the ability to handle Guest complaints and disputes and resolve them to satisfactory results.Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
