Technician II

Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad.Saber Power Services seeks a professional, dedicated individual with a positive outlook for our Technician II to perform electrical testing, maintenance, and start-ups of high voltage substations in Mobile, AL.Duties and Responsibilities:Perform electrical testing services on power apparatus, substations, and switchgear included (but not limited to) the following:Protective relaying and relaying systemsCircuit BreakersPower TransformersCurrent and Potential TransformersMeters, Transducers, and Power system meteringPower CablesGrounding SystemsMotors and Motor StartersStation Batteries and ChargersAlarm systems and AnnunciatorsPersonal Protective EquipmentPerform troubleshooting and problem identification and analysis. Make recommendations regarding corrective action and/or repairsGenerate technical reports detailing services provided, problems found, and corrective action taken or recommendedRepresent the company in a professional manner regarding communicating and interfacing with clientsCommunicate effectively with the company management team on a regular basis regarding project status and the scheduling of manpower and equipmentAlways make safety a top priority, realizing that the company has Zero Tolerance for those who do otherwisePerform other job-related duties as requested by management. Qualifications:Power DB knowledge a plusNETA Certification Level II - preferredWord processing, spread sheet and e-mail softwareMathematics, including algebra and trigonometryBroad knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals (Electrical)Broad knowledge of the major components of a substationBroad knowledge of control and protection systems (Electrical)Knowledge of high-voltage electric field theory (Electrical)Broad knowledge of electrical code and standards (NEC, NESC, and applicable IEEE and ANSI) (Electrical)Broad knowledge of civil / structural codes and standards (NESC, and applicable IEEE, ANSI, AISC and ACI) (Civil / Structural)Broad knowledge of the function of major electrical equipmentBroad knowledge of ground grid theory and design (Electrical)Effective oral and written communicationsKnowledge of the types of drawings required to construct an electrical substationKnowledge of drafting standardsWorking in a team environmentCommunicating effectively with co-workersValid driver's licenseAbility to travel 50% requiredSafety is a Core Value with our organization.
