Construction Materials Internship (Level 1)

Position & Office Overview As an intern working with our construction materials group, you will reinforce your education through a practical, hands-on, paid work experience. You also have a "can do" attitude and are ready to take on any project thrown your way - and that's why an internship with ECS will give you all the opportunity for career growth within our company you'll want.Responsibilities Observing and documenting field activities related to the construction processSampling, testing, and inspecting soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placementPerforming calculations and data reduction of test results along with draftingUsing field screening equipment and documenting readingsReading maps, following directions, and interpreting engineering and construction plansInteracting and communicating daily with contractors, technicians, and project managersGaining the confidence to be the sole representative of ECS on project sitesWant to experience what this job entails? Click below: Qualifications Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related degreeInterest in how building materials are utilized in the construction processPosition requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist heightMust be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - mileage will be reimbursedPlease note: relocation assistance is not provided for this position About Us ECS Group of Companies (ECS) was founded in 1988 with the goal to raise the standards of professional engineering consulting.
